Since 2005, Contact 5 Investigator Shannon Cake and her team have been investigating food sanitation practices in the state of Florida. After her first six-part series of reports that exposed several unsanitary practices in local restaurants, Palm Beach County responded by requiring all restaurants to post a notice in their establishment, informing the public that they have a right to request the latest inspection report. County commissioners credited Contact 5 with exposing the issue, leading to the passage of the ordinance.
Now, you can check out your neighborhood restaurants' inspection reports on WPTV.com. Search by restaurant name, zip code, or city and see up to two years of inspection reports.
In addition, we will update "The Restaurant Report" each week with the newest data from state inspectors, including restaurants with 25 or more violations, perfect scores for the week, emergency closures and disciplinary fines you should know about before you unfold your napkin and look at the menu.
