THE ACREAGE, FL -- The Acreage tumor scare is getting the attention of Tallahassee.

State Representative Carl Domino, in whose district the rural community falls, wants to know more.

When briefed by NewsChannel 5 on the 7 mothers who live just a few miles apart, whose children have developed tumors, Domino said, "we have the information and we are in touch with the State Department of Health because, statistically, something just isn’t right."

Today some residents are calling for an aggressive investigation.

Dr Michael Barr, a Boynton Beach dentist and resident of The Acreage, wants answers. "When you have your own kids, you project yourself into that situation. "I think in such a small area with so many cases, there is cause for alarm."

On Wednesday, WPTV NewsChannel 5 should have the results of the extensive water tests it did in The Acreage home of Jennifer Dunsford whose son is recovering from a brain tumor.

Water, however, is just one of a long list of potential causes for a possible cancer cluster.
