Question: Do you wear shorts and short skirts, or do you hide your legs because you have cellulite?
A lot of women do..and there hasn't been any effective way to get rid of bumps and waffling on the legs--until now.
I'll show you two reports on new ways to treat cellulite..
"Since I was a teenager i've carried all sorts of extra weight in my legs."
Sound familiar? Ann Fierro isn't overweight, and as a runner, she always thought her legs would be smooth. They weren't.
"You can see lumps and bumps and it just seemed like they were getting bigger and bigger.."
"It almost felt like I had bands of fat around here and here.."
Ann was waging a battle that many women fight.
"Anywhere from 70 to 90 percent of patients have some degree of cellulite.
Ann, too, was struggling with those unsightly lumps and bumps caused by irregular fat cells that occur mostly in the legs, thighs, and buttocks.
There hasn't been anything to get rid of it, until now.
This is Vela smooth - FDA approved about a year ago.
Dr. Tim Abousayed performs the procedure at his Wellington office.
"It's a combination of light therapy visible light and radio frequency energy that penetrates deeper under the skin in to the fat cells..and then suction and rolling device..the skin is actually kneaded like bread dough."
"You set an intensity, some patients have seen results after a few treatments."
"Ah..it started to smooth immediately.."
Ann has had about 20 treatments..and is thrilled by the results
"All here..see the definition now? you couldn't see that there was a big bump."
"I've lost over 3 inches in each thigh."
She's gone from legs she hid..to legs she loves to show off.
"I have bikinis again and they're little.."
Vela Smooth was FDA approved a little over a year ago.
12 treatments of Vela Smooth are recommended..it costs 1750 for 12 treatments.
Follow up treatments are occasionally needed.
And Vela Smooth is also being used in other areas of the body to tighten skin, such as the abdomen, and arms.
