Angie Weltzien says that her granite is a wonderful statement.   The finishing touches are being put in for her kitchen remodel.
According to Joe Huard of Environment Solutions, granite is one of the most popular items to add to a house that's being renovated..it's beautiful and durable..but it also emits radon which is a colorless odorless gas which is also a known cause of cancer.
Huard, of Lake Worth, says granite does emit radon. Huard is certified to test radon, and he tested the Weltzein home.  Angie's readings, were within acceptable levels. Clark Eldridge of the State Department of Health said that granite can be a part of home renovations.
