WEST PALM BEACH, FL -- Would Mark Foley run for office again? In his first interview since he resigned more than two years ago, WPTV's Roxanne Stein asked that very question.
"If you were asked to run again, State Senate, State Rep, Mayor?" asked Stein.
Foley responded, "I don't think it's going to happen."
Stein continued, "Congress, would you?"
Foley's answer: "I don't, I really don't, I wouldn't want to anticipate that becaue I don't think thats where my life calling is. I've got a lot of work to do still in myself. I think I still have a lot to contribute; I know I do. In what stage and what form, I'm not certain. Am I ready for the rough and tumble? One of my former aides said the other night, 'All you have to do is read your old emails. They'll flash on the screen in negative political ads, and I know that will be the case no matter what I do. You live with your history. It's your baggage. It's whatever."
Foley, though, left the door open for his political future, saying, "I'm not sure but I don't want to say absolutely no, but i think its highly unlikely."
