South Florida construction jobs available

MIAMI, FL--Contractors building the new Florida Marlins stadium are looking for lots of construction workers.

This morning, they will be handing out applications to people who are qualified to help.

By 5:00 a.m., there were already about 250 people in line at the site of the old Orange Bowl, located along NW 17th Avenue, just south of the Dolphin Expressway.

Applications will be handed out starting at about 7:00 a.m.

It is not clear exactly how many jobs are available, and no Web site has been established for potential applicants to sign up.

Groundbreaking for the new ballpark is set for July 18th.
