HOLLYWOOD, FL -- Police say Ottis Toole is the man who kidnapped and murdered Adam Walsh in 1981.
Police say after several confessions and recanting statements, they are confident that Ottis Toole, who is now deceased, was ultimately responsible for Adam Walsh's death.
The accused, a serial killer named Ottis Toole, died in prison more than a decade ago.
Toole had confessed to the killing, but later recanted.
He claimed hundreds of murders, but police determined most of the confessions were lies.
Toole's niece told the boy's father, John Walsh, her uncle gave a deathbed confession to the crime.

MIAMI, FL -- Sources close to the case say that investigators are going to close the Adam Walsh case.
A news conference Tuesday at 2pm will announce the new details, according to sources.
John Walsh and his wife are expected to fly down to South Florida tomorrow to meet with detectives.
