BERLIN, GERMANY--German engineers have brought James Bond technology to life.
Scientists from the Freie University of Berlin have developed an application for the iPhone which makes it possible to drive a specially adapted vehicle.
Scientists showed off the computer-driven car Monday, called the "Spirit of Berlin," at the city's airport.
Signals from the phone are sent to the car via a wireless local area network connection.
Computers inside the vehicle then process the information.
The person driving the car with the phone can steer, brake and accelerate, as well as turn on different components.
The Detroit Free Press reports the device is not available commercially. It only works on the specially designed vehicle used in the test.
