Lauren LaPonzina joined Florida's highest rated television station in March of 2009 and was promoted to the anchor desk within months. Lauren co-anchors NewsChannel 5's Midday newscast every weekday. She also anchors the Sky Five Team Traffic reports every weekday morning on Today on Five.

Lauren is an Emmy nominated, seasoned journalist with more than a decade of experience as an anchor and reporter in Florida, New York, and Maryland. Some of her career highlights include riding along in a Presidential motorcade, covering the Caylee Anthony case for Fox News Channel, helping Floridians through several hurricanes and tornadoes, and sitting down with the legendary Bill Cosby for a one-on-one interview.

When she's not working, you can find Lauren at the beach with her fiance and their two dogs or at one of Palm Beach County's fantastic waterfront restaurants. Lauren's golden retriever is a certified Pet Therapy dog. She rescued her English Pointer from a shelter in Fort Pierce.
