Marci Gonzalez joined the NewsChannel 5 team in October of 2006. She comes to WPTV from News 12 in New York City. She spent 15 months as a general assignment reporter at News 12 The Bronx and as weekend anchor for both News 12 The Bronx and News 12 Brooklyn.
While attending the University of Central Florida, Marci was a reporter for the show, UCF Metro on the local PBS affiliate.
She also reported and anchored for the university's news program, UCF Knightly News. Marci interned at Central Florida News 13 and WOFL. She helped with their coverage of the 2004 hurricane season.
Marci grew up in Port Orange, FL. Her interest in news started in the 6th grade when she began anchoring for her middle school's morning news program. She continued with school news throughout middle and high school. She's thrilled to be back in the Sunshine State, not just because of the great weather, but because she now gets to see her family more often.
When she's not working, Marci enjoys volunteering, especially through her involvement with the Kiwanis organization.
