Education:Bryan graduated cum laude from Duke University with a degree in English and History. He went on to earn a master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University.

Bryan Garner covers the Treasure Coast for WPTV. He manages the station’s two bureaus in the region: in Port St. Lucie and Stuart.
Over the past decade he’s had a chance to cover some of the biggest stories in our area, including the 2000 presidential recount, the Columbia space shuttle disaster, and hurricanes Frances, Jeanne and Wilma.
He has won a number of awards for his breaking news and feature reporting from the Society of Professional Journalists, the National Press Photographers Association, and the Associated Press.
In 2002 he won a Regional Edward R. Murrow award and was nominated for a Suncoast Emmy for his documentary, “Haiti: Beyond Hope.”
Bryan and his wife, Kelly, live in Palm City with their children, Emma and Graham, and their two cats.
When not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, following Duke basketball, golfing and running.
He’s proud to have completed the Chicago and Marine Corps marathons.
