MIAMI, FL-- An exam has taken place of the brand new baby reticulated giraffe at the Miami Metrozoo.
The new addition is a girl.
Newborn giraffe's normally weigh more than 150 lbs at birth and stand nearly 6 feet tall.
25 year old "Kita" delivered the baby earlier this week.
The pregnancy lasted 15 months and This is Kita's 12-th baby! It is also the 42nd baby giraffe born at the zoo.
The zoo also unveiled a baby naming contest today.
