Charles Carroll: Man proves you're never too old to volunteer

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - A local man is making a difference for patients in the hospital, proving you're never too old to volunteer. Charles Carroll volunteers at Delray Medical Center eight hours every week.

His job is to transport patients who are being admitted or discharged from the hospital in a wheelchair.

What surprises people most about Charles is that he is 99 years old.

Charles had a heart attack six years ago and was grateful to the medical staff there. Once he recovered, he started volunteering at the hospital.

"It took about five weeks here at the hospital. I owe them very much, my whole life depended on these people who took care of me here and I will never forget it," he said.

Charles will turn 100 next week.
