Making a Difference: WIRK Helps with Operation Pontoon after Isaac

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. - Country radio station 103.1 WIRK-FM is making a difference in the wake of Isaac's historic flooding.

The station has helped hundreds of families through "Operation Pontoon," a supplies drive for families who need food, water, bug spray, and cleaning supplies.

Many of those picking up supplies today, also got a water and supplies for stranded neighbors.  Everyone was thankful for the radio station's efforts.

"Very thankful. They did a wonderful job and for people helping other people -- you don't really get that anymore now a days," Acreage resident Bennie Perry said.

"We're all part of the same community, and that was the thing for us. When we heard how bad it was we thought, this is a no brainer," DJ Jeff Elliott said.

WIRK also said it couldn't have done it without the help of so many others in the community who also didn't hesitate to lend a hand.
